Chuze Capo from Brockton, Ma comes out with a debut Ep titled “Chuze Or Luze” where he demonstrates his versality in sound flows and beat choices. This 4 song Ep satisfies every type of listeners wants. He has one feature from another Brockton artist named DTheFlyest who has a major record with Lil Baby. Check out the interview and EP below.
BS: What’s your name and tell us a little bit about yourself.
CC: I go by “Chuze Capo” & i enjoy making music for all types of listeners.
BS: Where are you from? And what affect does that have on your music?
CC: Im' from Brockton, MA; that seems to have a bad reputation for murders and drugs. I want to have something positive come out of the city and get Brockton more recognition and have the spot light on the city to build more opportunities for the artists.
BS: What was highest and lowest point in your career?
CC: My highest point started in 2019. I got comfortable with myself & started mastering my melodies. I decided to take it up a notch & collaborated with a fellow artist from Brockton on the Chuze Or Luze Ep titled “Bling”. He goes by the name of DTheFlyest & has a major record with Lil Baby. The lowest point in my career was when I first started in 2010, I always wanted to be unique & it was hard for me to create my own style being that I never made music before. It was hard to have a good sound sonically and stand out.
BS: How do you separate your personal life from your music life and how does how does the music industry affect your personal life?
CC: I became a father in 2019 and focused more on my family and keeping up with my professional career. I try not to mix the two. Best way that helps me separate my personal and music life is having a schedule and sticking to it.
BS: What project/track means the most to and which project/track are you proudest of?
CC: My current project “Chuze Or Luze” is my proudest and means the most to me. I wanted to drop a project titled “Chuze Or Luze” since 2013. I’m proud to have finally been in the right space to do so.
BS: "Chuze or Luze" is only 4 songs, but it came out very versatile, was this your intent to begin with...leave us with just enough to see what you can do, but no too much where we are lost?
CC: Yes my intentions was to give just enough but not too much & have people waiting more.
BS: Your use of autotune is really good, my question is, many artists are taking us of this tool, do you believe you will standout among the rest?
CC: I’ll stand out with the auto tune because it comes down to the artist being able to hit notes without the use of auto tune first. That is the key and that’s something a lot of artists seem to forget.
BS: I like the slight reggae/dance vibe on "With You", sounds like this track was made for the ladies...but which one will you be using as the official single?
CC: I'm glad you were able to pick up on the vibe of that record. I enjoy making reggae/dance songs. The official single will be “Bling” ft Dtheflyest.
BS: Who do you feel is your biggest competitor?
CC: I would say my biggest competitor is myself. I only want to do better then i did on my last song.
BS: What is the hardest part of the music industry?
CC: The hardest part of the music industry is not becoming a struggle artist. I always felt like making money is key because with out the income it’s hard to keep up with your fans needs.
BS: What are your thoughts on how the rap game has changed?
CC: When I first started lyricism was the most important thing, but now a days all that matters is a good beat and a nice melody. Lyricism unfortunately has taken a back seat.
BS: Who or what has the biggest impact on your career?
CC: The biggest impact was getting my own studio set up at home and started to learn engineering. I got a lot comfortable with myself and understood how to make a song even better.
BS: What can we look forward to seeing in the future from you?
CC: I hope to do a major feature with someone in the near future and also open up for major artists.
